Dr. K. A. Paul of Global Peace Initiative Brokers Peace to Save Orphans and Widows in War Torn Regions and has negotiated to stop Iraq War, Brokered Peace in Liberia but Bush Administration 'Stole Credit' and Silenced Dr. Paul and GPI

WASHINGTON, July 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the Global Peace Initiative:

Press Conference

Date: July 31, 2008

Place: National Press Club (Holeman Lounge)

Time: 12:00 Noon

On Thursday morning, July 31, 2008, Dr. K.A. Paul, an American resident born in India and the world's most popular Christian evangelist, will file a complaint in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., against President George W. Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, the President of the Congress Party, and the Prime Minister and a host of U.S. government agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Aviation Administration, and their heads, for civil rights and other illegal conduct designed to silence him and destroy his non-profit organization, Global Peace Initiative, Inc. ("GPI").

Dr. Paul and GPI, whose mission is to broker peace in war torn regions of the world, such as Iraq, where innocent women and children are being harmed and killed, and who rescues orphans and widows around the world, is widely known to have brokered the peace in Liberia, when a few years ago he brought then President Charles Taylor to Christ and convinced him to resign and leave the country. At the time, Dr. Paul and GPI were coordinating their efforts with President Bush, Condoleezza Rice and others in the Bush Administration, whom Dr. Paul had personally supported and helped elect in 2000. However, after his successful efforts to remove Taylor, Secretary Rice, and President Bush's assistant Jendayi Frazier, and others in the Administration, double crossed Dr. Paul and GPI, by having Taylor extradited from Nigeria, where he had fled, to Sierra Leone, and then arrested. As importantly, Bush, Rice and others in the Administration claimed credit for removing Taylor, a historic event in which they played little to no constructive role.

As alleged in the complaint, after Dr. Paul spoke out concerning the dishonesty of the Bush Administration, it has made a concerted effort, with others, such as the Prime Minister of India, to silence and destroy him and GPI. The complaint, a copy of which can be found at http://www.globalpeacenow.com/ and which will be distributed at the press conference, alleges that Dr. Paul was then harassed, wiretapped, illegally detained at airports and elsewhere, had GPI's plane effectively grounded by the FAA, donors scared away, and otherwise severely damaged by the Defendants through a series of illegal and unconstitutional acts.

Now, Dr. Paul and GPI, like many Americans, are fighting back. Having had the Bush Administration and its accomplices try to ruin him and GPI's mission to save orphans and widows, all because Plaintiffs' oppose his foreign policies, such as the Iraq war, Dr. Paul and GPI are fighting back in court.

Dr. Paul and other supporters will be present at the press conference to explain why, as a former supporter of President Bush, he has now been forced to sue for 10 Billion dollars in damages and ask for injunctive relief.

Dr. Paul and GPI are being represented by Larry Klayman and The Klayman Law Firm. Mr. Klayman is widely known for taking on the powerful in government as the founder of Judicial Watch and now Freedom Watch.

Session With Obama Closes UNITY '08 Conference

CHICAGO, July 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --

Sen. Barack Obama told an audience of more than 2,500 journalists of color that actions speak louder than words when it comes to addressing past mistreatment of communities of color in the United States.

Obama was the closing speaker at UNITY '08, the five-day, quadrennial conference that brought together more than 7,000 members from the four largest ethnic journalism associations in the United States.

"We were pleased to have Sen. Obama speak to our members," said UNITY President Karen Lincoln Michel. "It is important that the issues of diversity and fair and accurate coverage of communities of color be part of the discussion in choosing the next president of the United States."

During the UNITY Presidential Candidate Forum that was sponsored by CNN and TIME Magazine, and aired live over CNN, Obama was asked whether he would push for a formal U.S. apology to Native Americans for the treatment they have received in the United States.

"I think the U.S. government should not just offer words, but should offer better schools in the inner city and jobs for people who are unemployed," said Obama.

Obama was the only announced candidate for the 2008 U.S. Presidential election to speak at this year's conference. Presumptive Republican presidential candidate John McCain had been invited to address conference attendees, but campaign officials declined citing scheduling conflicts. During the 2004 UNITY conference, both the Democratic candidate John Kerry and Republican President George Bush made formal appearances at UNITY.

The New Yorker's Islamophobic and Racist Cartoon of Barack and Michelle Obama

The Islamophobic and racist cartoon

I am not going to nominate Barry Blitt for the Pulitzer Prize in Editorial Cartooning and I am not going to join any mob to lynch him, but I must say the truth.

His bizzare and offensive cartoon is a political lampoon to ridicule Senator Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama. It is as Islamophobic and racist as the twelve editorial cartoons of prophet Muhammad published by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten on 30 September 2005.

The New Yorker is accountable for this deliberate act of political provocation to aggravate the negative rumours of the Islamic backgrounds of Senator Barack Obama and his African American heritage.

It is a libelous cartoon published for the defamation of the personality of an African American Senator and damage the prospects of his election as the first African American President of the United States. The New Yorker can fool the rest of America by making obnoxious and preposterous excuses for this derogatory and defamatory political cartoon, but cannot fool any intelligent observer who can see the ulterior motive of this insult on all people of color in America and the rest of the world. This cartoon is a racist political campaign of calumny to malign the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party in the 2008 presidential election to perpetrate racial malice and prejudice against Senator Barack Obama and make most of the White voters to see him as a negative symbol of a true American citizen by dressing him and his wife in the masquerade of Islamic terrorists.

This cartoon should be denounced and destroyed!

No Trouble On Bonny Island

There is no sign or report of any violence on Bonny Island as the deadline given by the dreaded militants is today Wednesday July 16, 2008. I have spoken to my contact inside the Kingdom and she said there is no trouble in town and the Nigerian soldiers and mobile police officers are at their various posts from Finima to Bonny. I hope the militants will let Bonny Island be as peaceful as it is today.
The enemies of the Niger Delta have left town and they are either in their safe comfort zones in Abuja or have fled to foreign countries where they believe they would be safer.

Emergency on Bonny Island

Nigerian soldiers

Many families are fleeing Bonny Island before tomorrow July 16, the deadline of the ultimatum militants gave foreigners and non-indigènes to leave before their attacks on the kingdom.

The Nigerian soldiers are fully armed to confront them as I saw many soldiers guarding the Nigerian LNG Bonny Plant Complex and residential areas. I saw a tough looking soldier in combat mood with a machine gun behind a fortification of sandbags. They were frisking people on foot and searching vehicles.

I was at the Guaranty Trust Bank on Bonny Island to deposit some dollars in a domiciliary account, but the bank could not receive such deposits, because it was not fully operational in fear of the looming hostilities and most banks have been shut on Bonny Island.

I heard the bad news that some people fleeing Bonny Island drowned when their boat capsized in the Bonny river. I was sad, but I could not stop those I knew were fleeing in fear. I can only pray for their safety. I believe the will of the Almighty God shall done.

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. The world and they that dwell therein.~ From Psalm 24.

President Omar al-Bashir Indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC)

President Omar Hassan al-Bashir of Sudan

President Omar al-Bashir was indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Monday July 14, 2008, on charges of crimes against humanity.
Sudan alerted the U.N. that the indictment could jeopardize the peace process on the resolution of the Darfur crisis.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague found President Bashir guilty of the murder and rape committed by the Sudanese government troops and their militias against the people of Darfur. The ICC sought for the warrant to arrest President Umar al-Bashir for trial.

Nigerian Army Takes Over Bonny Island

The sight of about a battalion of Nigerian soldiers in jeeps, armoured tanks and on foot is making the people of Bonny Island jittery. The deployment of the troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces to the Bonny Kingdom began a week ago after the brutal murder of some military officers by an unidentified group of the dreaded Niger Delta militants. The security of lives and properties is the top priority of the Nigerian government and in particular the security of the Nigeria LNG Bonny Plant Complex.

The militants and allied gunmen have given an ultimatum to all foreigners and and non-indigènes to leave Bonny Island before July 16, 2008, for their own good. They have threatened to besiege
the kingdom and sack the multinational oil companies, banks and "saboteurs" they have accused of plundering the Niger Delta region for decades. After the daring attack on the Bonga field, the Nigerian government ordered the Nigerian Armed Forces to hunt and capture the Niger Delta militants responsible for the attack. The Nigerian military forces have been attacking the camps of the militants in the creeks and the Nigerian Army is building a garrison on Bonny Island for the maximum security of the Nigerian LNG Bonny Plant Complex and other oil companies.

The residents are sacred of being assaulted by unruly soldiers, because rumours are circulating that these soldiers will assault the defenceless young women as they have done when they were deployed to other troubled areas in the Niger Delta, such as in Ogoni and Odi where many cases of looting and rape were repoted.

Niger Delta Militants Warn Foreigners and Non-Indigènes To Leave Bonny Island

Niger Delta Militants

The militants and other gunmen in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria have warned all foreigners and non-indigènes to leave Bonny Island before July 16 or they would not be spared in their attacks on the Nigerian Armed Forces and multinational oil companies.

The militants have disrupted marine life and hijacked boats used by traders for the transportation of goods from the capital city of Port Harcourt to Bonny Island.
Market women have been attacked and some have been raped whilst crossing the Bonny River. The Amayanabo of Bonny, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple and many of the chiefs have fled their Bonny Kingdom in fear.

The resoltuion of the conflict plaguing the Niger Delta of Nigeria has failed.
The militants have been engaged in bloody gun battles with the combined forces of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Police with casualties on both sides and including innocent people caught in the crossfire. Last Saturday, a pregnant woman was killed by a stray bullet on Bonny Island. She was a member of the Assemblies of God church. The militant killed some military officers and decapitated one of the Naval officers whom eye-witness accounts said was a torn in the flesh of the militants.

As I am blogging from a cyber cafe on Bonny Island, an Air Force helicopter flew past from a mission to Aboloma creek. The Nigerian Air Force is bombing the identified camps of the militants in the Niger Delta.
