I was wondering why the Western leaders should be shocked when Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiyya(HAMAS)won the first Palestinian parliamentary elections of January 2006, with a 58% majority of the vote, having won 76 of the 132 legislative seats.
The news only shocked the largely ignorant Western World. Because, they have always been ignorant of the psyche of the average Palestinian and other Arabs. But most of the Islamic world wanted HAMAS to win and take over the governance of Palestine to quicken their suicide mission to destroy their common foe Israel. And the second in command of HAMAS, Sheik Mohammed Abu Teir is already talking tough that they will continue their terrorist armed struggle against Israel as long as Israel continues its occupation of Palestinian lands.
MAHMOUD ABBAS is a Shepherd dog surrounded by wolves.
Mahmoud Abbas was just an interim head of state and he was powerless against HAMAS. The protests of the younger and radical members of his ruling political party Harakat al-Tahrir al-Watani al-Filastini(FATAH)are nothing but kicking against their pricks. Because, they will only hurt themselves. They should just retreat and think of how to survive the reign of Islamic rule and terrorism. Because, Osama bin Laden and his fellow brothers in arms are already jubilating over the victory of HAMAS as their own victory over those opposed to their Jihad. And the new government of HAMAS will support their Al Qaida.
President Bush said Friday that the United States would cut aid to the Palestinian government unless Hamas abolished the militant arm of its party and stopped calling for the destruction of Israel. "And if they don't, we won't deal with them," Bush said in an interview aired on "CBS Evening News." "The aid packages won't go forward. That's their decision to make, but we won't be providing help to a government that wants to destroy our ally and friend."

But the senior leader of HAMAS, Ismail Haniyeh has rejected international calls for the Islamic militant group to disarm and renounce violence to prevent cuts to international aid for the Palestinian Authority.
"This aid can not be a sword over the heads of the Palestinian people and will not be material to blackmail our people, to blackmail Hamas and the resistance. It is rejected," Haniyeh told Reuters in an interview in the Gaza Strip.
For the citizens of Palestine, the internal initfada has begun. And for Israel, the already bad critical situation is now worse. So I advise Israel to prepare for the worst.
